I’m a Medicare specialist who helps seniors and their families better understand the Medicare health insurance maze and help them navigate their way through the process. When “Original Medicare” (Part A-Hospital Coverage & Part B-Medical Coverage) was signed into law, it was never intended to be all-encompassing. All Medicare beneficiaries still have to pay deductibles, coinsurance, and co-payments with “No Limit” or Cap on out-of-pocket expenses. I show seniors “how to get their Part A and Part B activated” through Social Security as well as evaluate which Medicare Health insurance plan is most appropriate for their particular situation. Occasionally staying on one’s employer group health insurance may be less expensive than going on Medicare. That being said, seniors have a choice.
